Harmonia Macrocosmica - коллекция выдающихся работ известного немецкого математика и астролога Андреаса Целлариуса (1596-1665) отсылает нас к Золотому Веку небесной картографии.

В средних веках картография была одной из ключевых наук. Сами же карты были настолько ценны, что издавались в самом роскошном виде и были одним из самых недосягаемых предметов роскоши.

Впервые Harmonia Macrocosmica была издана в 1660 году и была основана на учениях известных астрологов, в том числе Николая Коперника. В картах описаны движение солнца и луны, взаимодействие галактических систем. Это самый красивый небесный атлас из всех, когда-либо изданных. Оригинал хранится в Библиотеке Университета Амстердама.

In general, the plates of the 1660/61 editions are coloured in bright tones – those of the 1708 reprint tend to be more plain in colouring.
